New Finds

Maxart

The card on the right cost 50 cents, probably dating to the early 1970s.  Although a very convincing imitation of leather, the back shows they are plastic. The leftward card cost 99 cents, a doubling of price, and probably dates from the late 1970s-early 1980s.

Hand-painted Fish

From around 1949-50 until it was taken over by beutron, General Plastics supplied carded buttons to G. J. Coles on Embassy branded cards. Thus many GP designs appeared on both cards.
